Head Lice AGAIN!

After a very busy week I was looking forward to a nice leisurely weekend away. We are headed to Seattle tomorrow afternoon. Well-Grace was doing a bit more head scratching than normal. I gave her head a check (as any parent of a youngish child has to do these days)...for the umpteenth time the girl has headlice again. I have to be grateful that we have had a year and a half break from the evil beasts.

We don't have any trouble getting rid of them (lots of combing with the magical family heirloom comb from the early 1900's that David's mum gave it to us). I have probably written about this before but the combs they make today are ineffective and have teeth that are too far apart to get the eggs and small bugs properly. This English made hand cut comb works well and we will have to guard it carefully for generations to come (such a state of affairs that I have become a lice comb connoisseur).

We are still going to Seattle as we have booked a hotel that we would pay for regardless. We are attending the Harry Potter show that has gotten good reviews. Poor Grace will have to be combed within an inch of her life tomorrow before we go and then again repeatedly before and after going out in public. My plan is to get her an array of hats and her own pillow with several pillow cases along for the ride.

Hopefully I will get lots of walking in and get shove some of these pounds off.

xxxooo

It's a nightmare isn't it? I know that you're happy with your comb but in the UK you can get a comb called a nittygritty comb which is fantastic used with conditioner. Worth a go if yours fails
Your weekend sounds great, have a fantastic time. Would love to visit Seattle.

How about combs for pets? The type you use to get rid of fleas on cats sounds like just the thing (obviously not shared!!!)
If you think there's a comb in this country that you can't get, let me know and I'll try and get one for you. Ebay would have it too I imagine...

Sorry to hear about your girl - that totally sucks. As for Seattle - have an awesome time. I used to have to travel there for work and I just LOVED it! My favorite restaurant downtown was the Pink Door and one time we stayed at the Salish Lodge together - what a GORGEOUS place. Oh and on the food front - while we were there we went to The Herb Farm for dinner! The most amazing food/wine experience! Have fun in Seattle - I'm jealous! LOL

I remember when I got lice as a kid that my mom cried and cried as she tried to comb my super thick head of hair. I got it at the babysitters, and that was the end of the babysitter for me. My mom couldn't handle the risk :)

Have a great time in Seattle!

Where did that head lice came from? Is there any way to stop them? coz it’s kind of annoying when they are living on you, your scalp will be itchy and sometimes you can’t concentrate on your works. The most things are when I was in a meeting and in front of my co investors I scratch my head and I can’t stop it coz it’s so itchy is there any quick head lice treatment that can help me with it.
